Outside Coming In, is a group show featuring artists, Carl Baratta & Oli Watt, Isak Aplin, Jill Frank, Jennifer Ray, Regina Mamou, Tim Bergstam, Jennifer Wilson, Chris Bardley, Jacyln Jacunski and Casy McGonagle.
As the snow melts and temperatures wane, the natural world becomes less hostile to our bodies and we turn outward to interact with the landscape. With, Outside Coming in, Billetdeaux and Cooper have selected eleven artists who with similar and divergent media and visual strategies who have investigated the notion of interior and exterior in relation to the land and natural environments. Some pieces express the intrusion of wildlife in to the domestic sphere, while others show the staining and tearing of mud upon a human form. This exhibition posits and muses; pushes and pulls on the interaction of people, flora and fauna. Where do natural elements over lap with constructed spaces? How do they intrude and desert the domestic?
